The family's own timeline begins in the early 1950s, when the Armenian brothers Yervant and Souren Artinian started with a small jewellery atelier, later joined by their brother Kevork.
A second generation carried the firm to Thailand: Arto Artinian established Artinian Co., Ltd. in Bangkok in 1997, joined by Saro in 1998; the house launched its Sartoro brand in 2003 and moved into a purpose-built facility in 2015.
Press coverage of Thailand's jewellery trade corroborates the family's scale; the family's New York house MARLI (see its entry) belongs to the same lineage — one family, two houses.
