Aguletsi Jewelry (Astghik Samvelyan)

Silver; ornaments from an ethnographic collection

Astghik Samvelyan, daughter of the ethnographer and painter Lusik Aguletsi (1946–2018), curates the Lusik Aguletsi House-Museum on Muratsan Street in Yerevan and runs the Aguletsi silver line established in her mother's memory.

The jewelry recreates traditional Armenian ornaments drawn from the museum's ethnographic collection — eagle and dragon motifs among those documented in the family's holdings — while the house-museum preserves the family's collections of costume, adornment and folk objects.

Cultural press profiles the practice as an evolving interpretation of historical ornament rather than a static preservation.
