JEVO (Mamikon & Ashot Mikayelyan)
Silversmithing; repoussé (chekanka); in-house alloys
Twin brothers Mamikon and Ashot Mikayelyan, born in 1987 and trained in painting and sculpture at the arts academy in Gyumri, began making jewelry in 2011 under the brand JEVO — the Armenian word for twins.
They process all their metals and mix their own alloys of silver, brass, copper and melchior, preserving traditional silversmithing alongside repoussé — the chekanka technique — with settings in natural stone and wood.
In 2020 they opened an exhibition hall in central Gyumri that hosts masterclasses and serves as a platform for emerging artists; the workshop is documented by the Homo Faber Guide.
