Buduart Studio

Copper-wire jewelry; designs from museum artifacts

Husband-and-wife artists Arman Badeyan and Margarita Malkhasyan, both graduates of the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts, established Buduart Studio in Dilijan in 2008.

The studio's copper line twists soft copper wire into earrings, rings, hairpins and necklaces, drawing its aesthetics from the oldest jewelry held in the Dilijan Local Lore Museum; alongside jewelry the two practice batik and painting.

Profiled by the Smithsonian's My Armenia program — cited here through corroborating press — the studio also teaches visitors the copper-jewelry craft in small hands-on sessions.
