Ken Achikian's own account begins with an apprenticeship at fourteen under a master goldsmith; when war broke out he immigrated to California, worked four years as a jeweler, then moved to the Washington, D.C. area — where he and his wife Maral established Achikian Goldsmiths in Vienna, Virginia in 1990.
Better Business Bureau records corroborate the Virginia corporation's August 1990 start, list Maral Achikian as president, and carry the alternate trade name Ken's Jewelers.
The workshop maintains its own goldsmith on premises, and its lines include an Armenian Collection; the shop has worked from Pleasant Street in Vienna since a relocation the house documented in July 2021.
